batch capturing

while i was doing my assignment, there was this question that required us to develop one good topic for an interview. it brought back the memories of my last semester in my poly for my broadcast journalism, where we had to interview people for our news stories. i could remember the interviews i had, either with my friends (they had to cock up some bullshit so i could record it HAHAHA) or the relevant figureheads. i could remember the interview with the gardener and the mosquito bites, the PR personnel that i had to send 50 emails just to grab hold of their mere 5 minutes, all the smiling, and acting sweet and polite to strangers so i could make them talk to me, and all the shit i had to go through just to get a solid quote from a super long winded person.

bwaahahaha. all the memories.

and all that nostalgia’s flooding back. all the carrying of the 10 kg camera for my atv in the forest of lim chu kang and thronging through orchard road, the strong steady tripod that is too strong and steady, stoning while waiting for videos to render. all the “eh lets go and makan, come back our video still havent finish capture, SIAN” moments.

and while i was doing my newswriting assignment and attending my classes, i could vaguely remember what selvan said during j1 and j2, haha. this proves that i pay attention to lectures okay! it reminded me on how we always “pon” journalism lectures because we couldnt wake up for fridays 10am (goodness i could still remember!) or our stomachs are calling for self declared breaks, or when selvan had to resort to marking the attendance for our lectures. and how i could never understand a shit on what journalism was all about. hahaha.

okay enough of the recalling. some things are better not reminded. back to my assignment! sian haven’t start already don’t feel like doing already. *grumble grumble whine whine..*

UP!

I’ve recently watched UP, and I recommend that everyone should go and watch it!

School’s started! It’s not bad for a first day, I’ve made a nice friend! :) I’m learning what I’ve learnt in poly. gah.

Anyway, I’m still amazed that there’s people still reading my dusty cobweb infested blog. LOL.

GAH~ ( ´_ゝ`)

oh my.
I’ve been doing nothing for the past few weeks and I can feel the vines creeping up my legs on the swivel chair in front of the computer.
I’ve been doing nothing except watching dramas, playing games and bumming around. Okay pretty much of the drama-watching and sleep has taken up my lifestyle, so much that I’ve pretty much finish watching all the drama shows I’ve been wanting to watch. This is NO GOOD! だめですね!>.<~
so… I have decided to put up a list of things I have to do before my school starts (13th August, why 13th instead of the 11th I have no idea, but at least its not on a friday).

So here’s the (ぜんぜん無理)list of things I want to do!

1) Go out with everyone that I’ve been wanting to go out with.
2) Revise my japanese. (esp vocabulary and grammar!!!!!!)
3) Learn driving and attempt to pass the test!
4) Practice cello and improve on intonation
5) Cook! (I’ve tried ABC soup and chili kangkong so far, want to try old cucumber soup, braised tofu, and other alternatives other than my instant noodle diet lately (´・ω・`)
6) Take up rollerblading as a form of exercise! (since I’m too lazy to run)7) STOP BUMMING AROUND!!! Maybe I should take up a part time job. hmm.

Hope I can get to accomplish this near-impossible list!

condolences

oh well now that everyone is talking about michael jackson’s death (my morning was greeeted with 5 msn IMs about him), let’s give him a moment of silence please.
but meanwhile, let’s also make this overwhelm the memory of other significant people; Farrah Fawcett, my good friend’s boyfriend’s dad, and more loved ones.

okay point taken. shall not start off this sombre afternoon with that.
here’s video that my boyfriend has shown me. make your day and watch it:

PS: Is there anyway I can disable  this blog post from being published in my facebook via RSS feed? lol thanks

It’s about time

and yes, for the first time in about 4 years, I am officially unemployed, which leaves me with..

♫ no job, no life, no money!

right.  so this leaves with tons of time to chill, wake up late, slack and play games! Recently I picked up my habit of catching every flick in the theatres so this leaves me in a deeper abyss of hole in my wallet and I’ve also picked up rollerblading. I bought a pair of rollerblades and am looking for people to teach me blading ! Anyone? :D

Okay now that i’m super free, please ask me out. Thanks!

hello world!

after this indefinite long hiatus, I am finally back! here’s some updates on what’s been going on.

Abroad and away|

A month ago I was away to both Japan and Hong Kong, to Japan for my cousin’s wedding and to HK for my grad trip. It was a whole load of fun, with culture shocks and comparison in prices, and it was a real eye opener for me, with a shopping heaven and more. Loads of pictures here, here, here and here.  In Japan I went to Tokyo, and been to most of the tourist destinations, (Shibuya, Harajuku etc), and in Hongkong, Mong Kok, Shim Sha Tsui, Central and Causeway Bay). I love the countries, I love the places, and I love the people I went with :) Bali/Redang anyone? :D

Graduation and Performances
Finally my long-held wish has been granted! I have finally graduated from the Diploma in Communications and Media Management of Temasek Polytechnic! It wasn’t much of a fun anyway, just the collection of the cert, had a performance where I played the violin for the first time! It was a whole lot different from the low-pitch double bass, and a whole new different perspective towards intonation. lol. Had major buffets after every performance, which was probably the motivating factor to me playing.

oooh recently I’m picking up roller blading! I figured there could be another sports that didnt have to kill me (ie running) and yet enjoy the sea without the hassle (ie cycling), so I’m picking up blading! Anyone to teach or blade with me! :D

Okay back to work now. Going to be jobless in a weeks’ time. Please anyone with  jobs to recommend (part time temp) please email/pm/sms/IM me thanks!;D:D:D:D:D:D:D

In life, there’s many unpleasant people. That’s how we learn to appreciate the pleasant people around us.

Time to say Goodbye

Oh well, been experiencing plenty of goodbyes in the past few months while I wasn’t updating my blog. From end of my time in TPCO (with the concert and everything), to end of my three years in the polytechnic (with the Media Biz Awards). There was plenty of tears and smiles aplenty as well, but along with it brings a tinge of sadness, while taking a trip down memory lane.

P.S. That statement was severely overdue, (almost a month), so it’s time for some cheerful content!

Well, an update on my life now, it’s still the same ol’ mundane stuff, waking up and going to work and all, but I’ve recently taken up Japanese (Nihongo!) and it’s very fun, with funny classmates and a lovely teacher :) haha. The pace of learning is scary (ko ai desu!) but oh well, that’s a challenge! haha

Okay! Part 2 coming soon! :D

OMG

I just watched メイちゃんの執事 (Mei-Chan no Shitsuji)’s last episode (epi 10) and it rocks! There’s nothing better than a happy ending, and I simply love the ending! (especially the last 2 minutes) I was so crazy over it I watched it FIVE TIMES continuously. HAHAHAHAHAHA

Anyway, dilemma time! This time its for enrollment into a uni, local u’s are definitely out, so I’m stuck in between two choices ; RMIT’s Communications, or MDIS, Oklahoma Uni’s Communications. RMIT’s 1 and a half years (school fees 13k+) , and it’s part time, which means I can find a full time job! So when I graduate, I have experience, and adegree together at the same time! But on the other hand, the course curriculum is more of writing and such, (think3537 research papers) and I’m not sure if that’s the way I want to go (I’m not very good with bombastic English terms)

On the other hand, MDIS’ Oklahoma Uni offers TV production and news production, which is something I’m keen at. But it’s 1.5 years, full time, and the school fees are 2x more expensive! (26k), which means I probably cant find a job, and I’m not sure if the degree’s recognised anyway. But the course details sound more interesting, with cross culture related subjects, and loads of PR/Advertising/Marketing yadda yadda.

So how! Part time, more affordable degree, but something I’m not very interested at, VS Full Time, a little tad more expensive, but something I might be keen at.. what now!

Headache ah headache. Somemore I have a Chinese Orchestra concert coming up next week, and I haven’t sold much tickets. Can a kind soul please liberate me from my misery of selling tickets and buy one from me please. It’s 10 bucks per tix but I’m willing to sell it at a discount of $2. It’s $8 each! Reduced price! Good value! Pleaseeeee :(

Okay since I’m at it, might as well have a tiny advertisement session.

The Temasek Polytechnic’s Chinese Orchestra is performing next Friday (27th March 200) at Victoria Concert Theatre! We will be playing common tunes that everyone has heard of, so fret not of atas cheena-piang music. The concert starts at 8pm, and will probably end at 9+ for those who still want to go clubbing after that. HAHAHA. Anyway tickets are priced at $10 each. Interested parties, PLEASE PLEASE EMAIL ME AT icycoal (dot) (gmail) (dot) com.  Sorry for the cock email, but it’s to prevent spam, so yea. Please SUPPORT! Your kindness will go a loooong way! For bulk purchases, further discounts will be given! :D :D Thank you for your time!

Alright! I better go watch my Iljimae! OMG Lee Joon Ki is like a very cute can! tee hee hee.
